The Department of General Services has posted a number of items up for sale on eBay and Craigslist sites. As part of the Great California Garage Sale, a vehicle auction will also take place onsite and will include over 500 vehicles – many of which have been declared surplus as part of the Governor’s Executive Order which was issued last month to reduce the state fleet. The warehouse has been filled with items that have been declared surplus by dozens of state departments and agencies in an effort to clean out California government’s closets and eliminate waste, fraud and abuse. The Great California Garage Sale will be held August 28th and 29th at the Department of General Services’ Surplus Property Warehouse in Sacramento where thousands of Californians are expected to shop for surplus state property.
